Ballroom at Park Lane Villa

park-lane-logo-2-color

In University Circle on the East side of Cleveland, the Ballroom at Park Lane Villa was recently renovated to create one of Cleveland’s most unique venue for weddings, receptions, and other occasions of that nature. Their new space called for an identity to reflect the contrast of the both modern and historic of the building itself. This logo was created to reflect both ideas, as well as convey the elegance of the ballroom.

Beachwood Endodontics Logo

This logo was created for an endodontic specialist in Beachwood, Ohio. Feeling that their materials were outdated, they wanted to update their identity. After a few intial logo concepts, this is the one they decided on. The rest of their identity materials are posted as well.

AIGA Student Portfolio Review Poster

portfolio-review-poster-frontportfolio-review-poster-back

Every year AIGA Cleveland hold a Student Portfolio Review where students can bring their work and have it reviewed by professionals in the field and receive feedback. The concept for this 18×24″ was to make it look like a book cover, acting as if the portfolio itself had a story to tell and experiences to share. I played up on the idea by adding critic reviews on the inside panels, which I was giggling about as I typed them, to  be completely honest. Poster folds down to a 9×12″ mailer to be sent out to schools in the Akron/Cleveland area, event takes place in April. I had fun with this one. Click thumbnails to view.

Dominion East Ohio Newsletter

img0551_dana-ross-portfolio_pipeline

Dominon East Ohio wanted to create a newsletter for their employees about their employees, which turned out to be a great ongoing project. This is one of those rare opportunities where I was given a project with a blank slate. Everything from the design, look + feel, format, and including the name of the publication (and masthead/name plate design) was open to creativity. Luckily, I have a wonderful client who is open to new ideas and great to work with, which is the other half of this fantastic equation. This publication prints quarterly, and shown here are just a few issues that we’ve done in the past two years. (photography: Tim Safranek Photographics)

Beachwood Endodontics ID System

Beachwood Endodontics was in need of an identity overhaul. This included a new logo, letterhead, envelope, business + appointment cards. Their new look was also applied to a brochure which explains their services and specialties for new patients.

AIGA 2008 Get out the Vote Poster

get-out-the-vote-poster-small

This 11×17″ poster was done back in October to promote AIGA’s Get Out the Vote poster show. Designers from all across the country submitted their poster designs to encourage young folks to vote in the 2008 election. This poster, however, was created to promote a display showing a few of the best of the entries submitted. The display was up for a few weeks at the end of October through Election Day.

VOCON 2008 Holiday Package

img0521_dana-ross-portfolio_vocon

VOCON Architects are based in Downtown Cleveland. For the past several years, they have sent out holiday gifts to a select number of clients. The gift theme for 2008 was ‘Holiday Hangover Helper.’ Gift package contained a holiday card, plastic water bottle with printed label to match other materials, aluminum water bottle branded with their logo, and (of course) a travel packet of Tylenol. How thoughtful. The box was sealed shut with a label that also matched the overall look and feel of this project (shown on top of box lid). I’m so happy with how this piece turned out! AIGA Cleveland Design Competition

I just finished the design for the Cleveland Design Competition Call for Entries. Those of you involved in AIGA Cleveland Chapter, watch your mailboxes. This poster is 18 x 24″ and folds down to a 9 x 12″ mailer. I’m very pleased with this particular piece. I used an actual font to create this artwork, however each letter is a separate file, so it truly mimics the hand-setting process of letterpress type. Needless to say, this took a while to assemble, but absolutely worth every minute. Shown: Front (green) and back (with mailing panel).

AIGA Art Auction

Here is a call for entries piece I designed for an art auction. Right before the holidays, AIGA Cleveland chapter put together an art auction to benefit Harvest for Hunger. The goal was to get as many designers and local artists to donate a handmade ornament to be auctioned off at the event, proceeds to go to the Cleveland Foodbank. I wanted the piece to convey the hand-made artwork feel, hence the pencil illustration. We raised over $500.

The latest and greatest piece for Marigold is a 5×7″ postcard, to be sent out to existing and potential clients. Love the photo, love the tagline.
