COSE Energy Brochure

Apologies for not posting in a while! Summer has been great so far, and we’re looking forward to a hectic fall! Here is a small piece recently done for an energy program put together by COSE (Council of Smaller Enterprises). This is a tri-fold brochure was used to distribute information to promote energy audits for local small businesses.

Dominion Mailer

The BeeHive Studio was approached in the spring with a new project for an already existing (and great!) client. Dominion East Ohio Gas needed to let a portion of their customers know that their utility payment plan would soon be changing. The message needed to reach approximately 118,000 people in the Northeast Ohio area, some English-speaking, some Spanish-speaking. The mailer needed to convey a plan change that was somewhat complex, and therefore the design needed to be as straightforward and simple as absolutely possible. The solution reached was one with 4 colorful panels with the basic overview of the plan changes in both English and Spanish, and then a more detailed explanation inside as the piece unfolded. We are very pleased with the outcome of this large-scale project, and the client was thrilled with the results. Go team!

The Unique Bird – Site Launch!

uniquebird

The latest and greatest from the BeeHive Studio is a site launch for the Unique Bird! This site was built using CSS (my first, aww) and was created to obviously announced the beginnings of a new business venture, as well as direct folks to the online store set up on Esty. You can also follow the Unique Bird on Twitter and Facebook. So by all means, visit the site and buy something!

An old friend of mine from college and I recently reconnected (thank you, facebook). We got to talking and it turns out that she recently quit her full-time gig to take a stab at the entrepreneurial arts. Her degree is in fashion and she admittedly has a bad vintage habit. The idea was to create an online store to sell her products: Vintage items that are repurposed and sold as clothing, accessories, and products for the home. (Now that’s a horse of a different color, no?) The name of the business obviously painted a very brightly patterned bird in my mind. After a number of studies and sketches, this is the solution I came to. Working on the website and blog too, stay tuned for more.

Tim Safranek Photographics

Tim Safranek is a very talented photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio. What a great opportunity to be able to work on his new identity system and website. We wanted to showcase Tim’s wide range of abilities and scope of work by designing a website, postcard, and business card. The concept that we thought best to fit his portfolio was “Work + Play.” Using this idea, we could easily show a sampling of his broad scope of work by pairing the up photo combinations on his site. This started to create an interesting dialog with his images, which he loved. Please take a moment to see for yourself! www.TimSafranekPhoto.com

AZC Design

Here is a fun project that I recently finished for a good friend of mine. Her hobby is making accessories and small knitted items and is looking to start selling them. She wanted a business card that also worked as a tag for her products. Since all of her crafts are hand-made items, I wanted to reflect that in the card with the use of artwork that looked like thread to convey that hand-crafted feel. Front and back of cards shown. If you have a moment, visit the site to check out her work!

Ballroom at Park Lane Villa

park-lane-logo-2-color

In University Circle on the East side of Cleveland, the Ballroom at Park Lane Villa was recently renovated to create one of Cleveland’s most unique venue for weddings, receptions, and other occasions of that nature. Their new space called for an identity to reflect the contrast of the both modern and historic of the building itself. This logo was created to reflect both ideas, as well as convey the elegance of the ballroom.
